Bringing Plinth Lights Into the Home

If you are looking to save a considerable amount of money while installing new running lights in your bathroom or kitchen, using Plinth light kits might be your answer. These lighting kits do not need to be attached to the current electrical wiring of the house, as the lights are battery operated. Plus, you do not need to pay an individual to come out and install the equipment for you, as you are able to perform this process in an hour or so, regardless of how many lights you need to install. With a little careful measuring, it is possible to install the equipment fast and effectively, allowing you to move onto the next required home improvement task.

Before you begin, make sure to measure out the distance between the lights. You need each light to be equal distant between the other lights. This helps keep the lights looking professional. In order to do this, measure the total amount of space from the start of the first wall to the end of the last wall you want the track lighting Plinth Lights installed on. Then decide on how many lights you want to use. If there is 120 inches of wall space, and you want to place six lights onto the wall, you just divide the 120 inches by the six, and you receive "20" inches. This means there needs to be 20 inches between the different lights. Of course, the measurements are going to be different for your home, and the amount of lights are probably going to adjust likewise, but the actual method of determining the distance is the same.

Now that the measurements are complete, it is time to start installing the lights. Turn on the light before you install it (there is a small button on the back side that turns it on. With the light on, place it over the marked location and drill the small, provided screw through the drill hole on the top of the lighting unit. With the screw in place, adjust the placement of the light to make sure it is straight, then drill the second screw through the bottom screw hole. Now that the light is in straight, proceed to the next light. Continue with this process until all of the lights are installed.

During the life of the lights, the equipment is going to begin to shut down. This is because the batteries begin to fail. In order to switch out the batteries, you need to remove the lights from the wall, insert a new battery, and drill the lights back into position. This should only take a few minutes. Make sure to have plenty of batteries on hand, as the batteries for all the lights are probably going to begin to fail at about the same time.
